Boone County, traditionally a farming area, is an
excellent blend of small towns, manufacturing and distribution firms, agriculture, and small businesses. Boone County, with its peaceful and scenic setting, is only minutes away from Indianapolis and all the cultural activities that larger cities offer. Boone County has
over 46,000 residents and is adjacent to Marion County on the northwest side. Boone County's two largest
communities are Lebanon, the county seat, and
Zionsville. Other communities are Advance,
Jamestown, Thorntown, and Whitestown.
Boone County has many excellent venues for shopping. Lebanon offers larger commercial shopping mixed with smaller specialty shops. Zionsville is famous for its unique downtown shopping in the village. It features specialty shops and antique stores along its
Victorian-style, tree-lined brick Main Street. Thorntown also offers antique shopping in a special small town atmosphere.
Boone County has a host of entertainment
opportunities. In addition to weekly outdoor concerts
in the summer and numerous festivals, performances, and celebrations, Lebanon has a seven-screen movie theatre and bowling lanes. Boone County also boasts many restaurants that provide an unforgettable dining experience. Restaurants along Lebanon's Courthouse Square offer upscale dining in a historic setting. While shopping in Zionsville, top off your excursion with a meal at one of the many fine restaurants.
