A man was electrocuted Friday while stringing up Christmas lights.

Police were called to 7231 South 300 West in Trafalgar just after 4 p.m. where they found Bryan Davis, 43, on the ground and unconscious, according to a police report.

Davis' friend told police that the two men had been hanging Christmas lights on a large pine tree when Davis went to move the aluminum extension ladder and hit a power line.

Davis' friend was able to push him away from the ladder, after which Davis told him, "Man, it hurts bad," and passed out, according to the police report.

He was transported to Johnson Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
