Grace Trahan

RTV6 Anchor

Grace Trahan has known since she was a little girl that she wanted to be a newscaster.

"Every Sunday night I would watch '60 Minutes' with my father. I was so impressed," Trahan said. "I knew that I wanted to inform people and make them aware of scams and potential hazards that could harm their family. It's a privilege and honor to serve the public in this capacity and I don't take it for granted."

After graduating magna cum laude from Oklahoma City University, Trahan worked as the morning anchor in Beaumont, Texas, at KFDM-TV.

She came to RTV6 as a general assignment reporter and began anchoring the weekend newscasts six months later. In 1998, she moved to her current position as morning and noon anchor.

Trahan serves on several boards, including the Care for Kids Foundation and Baskets by Immanuel, which is a cancer prevention foundation. She also has received numerous awards, such as the Texas School Bell Award for Outstanding Educational Stories. Trahan is a member of Alpha Phi sorority.

Trahan and her husband are the proud parents of a boy, Christian, who was born in January 2002; another son, Nicholas, who was born in November 2003; and a girl, Rachel, who was born in April 2006.

Being the mother of three small children, Trahan has an intense interest in parenting and children's issues. She does a weekly feature on the Noon News called 6 On Your Kids' Side, which focuses on health and safety issues for children.

Trahan and her family attend St. Monica Catholic Church, where she is a soloist in the choir. She enjoys working out, reading, and traveling.
