Todd Wallace

Todd Wallace comes to 6News from the weekend anchor desk at KXAS-TV in Dallas.

Prior to his five years in Texas, he was morning anchor at WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C. The Baltimore native began his career at WJTV-TV in Jackson, Mississippi. Wallace has a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland.

Wallace brings more than 15 years of news gathering and storytelling experience to 6News. His most memorable moments include everything from field anchoring near the Pentagon just hours after the Sept. 11 terror attacks to solo anchoring six hours of breaking news during a recent ice storm.

He is most proud of his reports "Precious Cargo” which helped expose Mississippi's deplorable school bus transportation system and "No Free Parking," a report on illegally parking in handicapped spaces for which he won an Associated Press Award. Wallace is also a 2007 winner of the National Association of Black Journalists Salute to Excellence Award.

Wallace and his wife Valarie have a 3-year old daughter, Kennedy.

A self-proclaimed sports fan, Wallace also loves reading and going to the theater.

When asked about moving to the Circle City, he said, "We are very excited about coming to Indianapolis. I grew up between two very large cities. It will be nice being a part of a community that has a big city feel and small city charm. I was born in Baltimore and I am the original Colts fan. It will be fun to once again be able to support the team I watched as a boy."

Wallace is excited about joining the 6News family.

"My attitude is that there are no limits to what we can achieve working together as a team," he said. "My expectation is that the best is yet to come!"
