Juvenile shot, critically injured in drive-by on Indy’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A juvenile is in critical condition after being shot on the east side of Indianapolis in a drive-by shooting Friday.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 5200 block of E. 21st Street just before 1 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a juvenile male victim with gunshot injuries.

The victim was transported to Riley Hospital in critical condition but IMPD said they are expected to survive.

IMPD said the shooting was a drive-by.
