ANDREW CHERNOFF

Andrew Chernoff is an Emmy Award-winning weekend sports anchor and reporter for WRTV and WISH-TV. A Carmel native, Andrew joined the WISH-TV sports team in 2023, bringing his career back home to Central Indiana.

Andrew enjoys getting the privilege to cover so many of the sports and teams he grew up watching.

Before returning to Indianapolis, Andrew worked at WLKY in Louisville, Kentucky, where he spent roughly four years covering sports across the region. His assignments included multiple Kentucky Derby races as well as coverage of University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, Bellarmine University and high school sports.

Earlier in his career, Andrew served as a sports anchor and managing editor at Spectrum News Kentucky and as a weekend sports anchor and reporter at KFDM/KBTV in Beaumont, Texas.

Andrew graduated from Carmel High School and later attended Syracuse University. His connection to WISH-TV began well before he joined the station professionally, as he spent two summers interning at WISH-TV while attending college. Returning to Indianapolis gave Andrew the opportunity to come “Back Home Again in Indiana” and cover the communities where he grew up.

His favorite sporting event is the Indianapolis 500, and as a massive open-wheel racing fan, Andrew can often be found at Indianapolis Motor Speedway throughout the Month of May.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time on the golf course and hanging out with family and friends. He also enjoys taking part in different community events across Central Indiana.

If you see Andrew out at a game, be sure to say hi!
