Indiana Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs
The Indiana Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs represents 31 local Boys & Girls Club organizations operating
across Indiana and collectively serving more than 100,000 youth annually through over 160 Club sites
located in 56 counties throughout the state. Indiana Boys & Girls Clubs primarily serve youth ages 6 to 18,
including elementary, middle, and high school students, while many Clubs also provide preschool supports, summer learning opportunities, and workforce readiness experiences for older teens and young adults. Clubs serve youth during critical out-of-school hours by providing safe, structured environments where young people can learn, build relationships, and access caring adult mentors.
Indiana Boys & Girls Clubs focus on whole-child development through evidence-based youth development programming centered on academic success, healthy lifestyles, workforce readiness, character development, and emotional well-being. Academic support services include homework assistance, tutoring, high-dosage literacy and math intervention, STEM and robotics programming, digital literacy activities, credit recovery, summer learning programs, and college and career readiness supports. Many Clubs utilize nationally recognized programs and tools such as Project Learn, Power Hour, Edmentum Exact Path, Word Force, Pathful, and work-based learning initiatives to help youth improve academic achievement and prepare for future success.
Healthy lifestyle programming is another key component of Indiana Boys & Girls Club services. Clubs provide daily meals and snacks through USDA nutrition programs, physical activity opportunities, sports and recreation, nutrition education, social-emotional learning, mental health supports, trauma-informed care practices, and substance use prevention education. These programs help ensure youth have access to healthy environments that support both physical and emotional wellness.
Indiana Boys & Girls Clubs also place a strong emphasis on character and leadership development by
helping youth build confidence, leadership abilities, communication skills, and community engagement.
Programs such as Youth of the Year, Keystone Clubs, service-learning initiatives, peer mentoring, and civic
engagement opportunities encourage young people to become productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Workforce development initiatives further support youth by providing career exploration, employment readiness training, internships, financial literacy education, and real-world work-based learning experiences designed to prepare youth for long-term success in school, careers, and life.
Collectively, Indiana Boys & Girls Clubs engage thousands of staff members and volunteers to deliver high-quality youth development programming statewide. Recent statewide growth efforts have expanded Club access significantly, adding dozens of new Club locations and increasing the number of youth served
across Indiana communities. Through strong partnerships with schools, community organizations,
government agencies, and local supporters, Indiana Boys & Girls Clubs continue to provide critical supports that help young people reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens
