Girl Scouts to add dog treats, allergy-friendly cookies to 2027 lineup

INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) — Girl Scouts of the USA announced two new additions to its 2027 cookie lineup Tuesday: Patch Pals and Girl Scout Sparkables. The online-only offerings represent the organization’s first cookie made specifically for dogs and its first allergy-friendly cookie.

The new treats will join classic favorites such as Thin Mints, Samoas, Caramel deLites, Peanut Butter Patties and Tagalongs.

Girl Scouts across the country requested the new options to better serve their communities. The organization said the new additions allow more families and pets to participate in the annual cookie program.

For pets, Bark developed Patch Pals, a soft-baked, blueberry muffin-flavored treat. The cookies feature one of four “patch” designs that represent traditional Girl Scout experiences.

For customers with food sensitivities, Partake developed Girl Scout Sparkables. The oatmeal cookies include chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles. Partake produced the cookies in a facility designed to avoid the nine major food allergens: wheat, tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, soy, fish, sesame, and shellfish.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program teaches girls life skills such as goal setting, money management and business ethics. All proceeds from sales stay within local councils and troops to fund community service projects, STEM exploration and outdoor adventures.

The national cookie season runs from January through April, though local dates and booth hours vary. Patch Pals and Girl Scout Sparkables will be available exclusively for online shipping starting Jan. 12, 2027.
