Indiana reports 26 more COVID-19 deaths and 1,762 positive cases

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health reported Wednesday that 26 more people died with COVID-19 and 1,762 others tested positive for the virus.

There have been 645,006 positive cases and 11,604 confirmed deaths in Indiana since the pandemic began. An additional 423 probable COVID-19 deaths have also been reported.

A total of 1,273 people are in the hospital with COVID-19, a decrease of 48 since Wednesday's report.

There have been more than 7.42 million COVID-19 tests administered to more than 3.02 million individuals. The seven-day positivity rate among unique individuals through Feb. 4 is 14%.

Among all tests, the seven-day positivity rate is 6.1%.

The state health department said 35.8% of ICU beds and 79.4% of ventilators are available.

Approximately 759,992 Hoosiers have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and almost 280,000 people have received both doses and are fully vaccinated, according to ISDH's dashboard.
