Indiana reports 52 more COVID-19 deaths and 1,452 positive cases

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health reported Wednesday that 52 more people died with COVID-19 and 1,452 others tested positive for the virus.

There have been 643,305 positive cases and 11,578 confirmed deaths in Indiana since the pandemic began. An additional 423 probable COVID-19 deaths have also been reported.

A total of 1,273 people are in the hospital with COVID-19, an increase of eight since Tuesday's report.

There have been more than 7.36 million COVID-19 tests administered to more than 3.02 million individuals with a 21.3% cumulative positivity rate among unique individuals. Indiana's seven-day positivity rate among unique individuals through Feb. 3 is 14.3%.

Among all tests, the cumulative positivity rate is 10.4%, while the seven-day positivity rate is 6.2%.

The state health department said 35.5% of ICU beds and 78.5% of ventilators are available.

Nearly 736,500 Hoosiers have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and approximately 258,200 people have received both doses and are fully vaccinated, according to ISDH's dashboard.
