INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health on Saturday reported that 1,096 more Hoosiers have tested positive and 15 more have died from COVID-19.

The new positive cases occurred between July 30 and Friday and were reported in the state health department's update on Saturday. It is the fourth consecutive day the ISDH reported more than 1,000 new cases statewide.

In total, there are now 79,676 positive cases in Indiana since the coronavirus pandemic began in March. There have also been 2,921 Hoosiers who have died from COVID-19.

According to the state health department, another 207 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by ISDH and occurred over multiple days.

As of Saturday, more than 35 percent of ICU beds and nearly 81 percent of ventilators are available across the state, according to ISDH.
