ISDH: 750 new cases of COVID-19, 3 additional deaths

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Department of Health reported on Sunday that 750 additional Hoosiers have tested positive for COVID-19. There have also been three additional deaths from the novel coronavirus.

The state health department said the new cases reported on Sunday occurred between Friday and Saturday. The new deaths occurred between Aug. 12 and Saturday.

With the new cases, there have now been more than 80,000 Hoosiers who have tested positive since the first case of COVID-19 was reported in Indiana back in March. In total, there have been 80,415 people who have tested positive and 2,924 Hoosiers who have died from the virus.

The latest update snapped a four-day streak with more than 1,000 new cases being reported across Indiana.

The state health department also reported more than 35 percent of ICU beds and nearly 82 percent of ventilators are available across the state.
