BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. – A two-month investigation led to the arrest of two Indianapolis men Thursday for selling drugs in Bartholomew County.

Police found meth and heroin in a home at 1461 S. Leland Avenue and James Cantrell, 39, was arrested during the search.

He was charged with two counts of dealing meth and two counts of dealing heroin, according to police.

Cantrell was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail and placed on a $700,000 bond.

Johnny Flaugher, 29, was also arrested by police but at a separate home located at 307 S. Walcott Street.

He was charged with one count of dealing meth and will also face possession of heroin charges in Marion County. He was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on a bond of $250,000.

“By partnering with the DEA, we are able to go wherever the source is in order to stop drugs from coming into Bartholomew County,” said Bartholomew County Sheriff Matthew Myers.

In September, Bartholomew County issued a public safety announcement prompted by multiple drug overdoses in the area. Five overdoes were reported in a 24-hour period one weekend in September and in March, Myers warned of “bad heroin.”
