Former coroner resigns as he pleads guilty to alcohol charges
FRANKLIN, Ind. (WRTV) — Former Johnson County Coroner Michael Pruitt pleaded guilty to seven counts of providing alcohol to a minor Thursday
in a Johnson County court.
A special judge accepted the plea agreement, which required Pruitt to resign his office. Pruitt must serve a 363-day probation and is ordered to have no contact with the teenager or her family.
Deputy Coroner Amanda Swartz is now the acting coroner, according to county officials.
Pruitt originally faced charges of stalking, harassment, and providing cannabis gummies to a 17-year-old girl.
