Man arrested after woman found shot dead inside car on Indy’s east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man has been arrested on a murder charge after a woman was found shot dead inside a car on Indianapolis’ east side Thursday night, IMPD said.

Officers were dispatched around 9:21 p.m. to the 20 block of Hendricks Place on a report of a person shot.

When they arrived, they found an adult female inside a car with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 29-year-old Alonna L. Steen.

Taylor Boyd, who was detained at the scene, was later arrested on a preliminary charge of murder.
