Shooting on Indianapolis east side leaves man dead, police say
INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) — A person is dead after Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers responded to reports of a shooting early Sunday.
Officers were called to the 3400 block of North Emerson Avenue, where they found a person with gunshot wounds. IMPD Officers say the 9-1-1 call came in just after 6:30 this morning. Officers say the call came from an individual walking past the victim to a nearby gas station.
A male was pronounced dead at the scene, police say. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified him as 26-year-old Keenan Eugene Poe, Jr.
Officers also say there were spent shell casings near the individual who was pronounced deceased.
