Woman dies in shooting on Indianapolis’ near east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A woman was killed Friday morning in a shooting on the near east side of Indianapolis.

Around 9 a.m. Friday, officers with Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department went to the 1000 block of North Ewing Street on a report of a person shot. Once on scene officers found a woman with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

IMPD detained two people at the scene of the shooting. It is unclear what their involvement is at this time.
