Divine Dads Alliance launches on Indianapolis Far Eastside

INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) A new fatherhood group is making its debut Wednesday night on Indianapolis’ Far Eastside — and it’s free to join.

The Divine Dads Fatherhood Alliance is the newest program from Divine Transitions Doula Care Services. The kickoff starts at 6 p.m. at the Far Eastside Café.

CEO Holly Frierson says the group is built for expecting fathers, new dads and experienced fathers alike.

“We want men to come together — to not only have conversation, but make impactful growth as they go through their fatherhood experiences,” Frierson said.

The group is designed to be a space where men can be supported, heard, encouraged and held accountable — while sharing advice and asking questions.

Frierson says the public image of fatherhood too often ignores the men who show up.

“People only want you to see the deadbeat or the absent fathers,” she said. “But our fathers are more engaged and more involved. Most of my clients — the father is there from beginning to end.”

Frierson says she wants Divine Dads to help change that narrative and make involved fathers more visible in the community.

The group is free and open to the public tonight at 6 p.m. at the Far Eastside Café in Indianapolis.
