AVON, Ind. -- Avon Community Schools were on lockdown Friday morning because of a nearby attempted robbery near a school.
The attempted robbery happened at the Circle K gas station at around 10:30 a.m., near the intersection of U.S. 36 and Avon Avenue.
All Avon schools in the area went on a lockdown, which ended around 11:45 a.m.
On its website, the school said:
Avon Community School Corporation was notified by the Avon Police Department at 11:45 a.m. that there is no longer a threat to the area. Effective immediately all schools are back to normal operations.
