INDIANAPOLIS — One person was critically wounded in a shooting on the Indianapolis east side Monday evening.

Police were called to Tallman and Roosevelt avenues before 9:30 p.m., according to a public information officer for Indianapolis Metropolitan Police. One person had been shot at that location and was rushed to I.U. Health Methodist Hospital.

A large crowd gathered in the neighborhood as police worked to find out what led up to the shooting.

A description of a possible suspect and the car he was driving was quickly put out over police radios.

This is a developing story and WRTV will have additional information as it becomes available.
