IMPD arrests 18-year-old accused of killing another teen in October

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a deadly October 2020 shooting on the northeast side.

Homicide detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department took Domonique J. Freeman into custody Thursday night for his alleged role in the shooting death of Randall Jenkins, 18, on Oct. 16, 2020.

Officers with IMPD's North District were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 16 to the 2700 block of Hyche Avenue on a report of a person shot. They found Jenkins suffering from gunshot wounds, and medics pronounced him deceased.

On Jan. 21, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office charged Freeman with murder and carrying a handgun with a license. Freeman, who was 17 at the time of the shooting, faces charges in adult court.
