LAFAYETTE - A man was injured in an officer involved shooting early Tuesday morning.
Lafayette Police Department officers responded to a parking lot in the 600 block of N. 6th Street around 1:30 a.m. for an unknown reason. The details surrounding the call and the situation have not been released, but police say one male was shot. No officers were injured.
The man was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Police recovered an handgun from the scene. It is unclear if the weapon was fired at officers during the incident.
The investigation continues and police say no other details are being released at this time.
