INDIANAPOLIS — Police are looking for the public's help in solving the city's latest murder.
It happened Monday afternoon on the city's northwest side on Westhaven Drive, near North High School Road and West 38th Street. City police have responded to 133 homicides so far this year, a figure far ahead of any other year in Indianapolis. At this point in 2019, there had been 88 homicides.
A public information officers for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the victim was an adult male who was rushed to a local hospital but did not survive. The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Damon Frederick.
There were no specifics on what led up to the shooting.
