Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- A search for two wanted persons Friday afternoon yielded guns, drugs and an arrest at a northeast side home.

IMPD detectives from the North District Narcotics and Vice Unit were contacted shortly before 5:30 p.m. Friday by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office warrant team, who had located firearms and signs of narcotics activity while searching for two wanted persons in the 2800 block of East 36th Street.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, which was found to contain a Glock handgun stolen out of Avon, Indiana, along with four other guns, $3,000 in cash, and small amounts of heroin, marijuana and an unidentified controlled substance.

Detectives also arrested 31-year-old Robert Butcher on preliminary charges of dealing and possession of narcotics and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon. Police also found Butcher had an outstanding warrant from a previous unrelated investigation.

Following his arrest, Butcher was transported to the Marion County Jail without incident.
