Two deadly shootings Saturday night under investigation by IMPD

INDIANAPOLIS — Two people are dead after separate shootings Saturday night in Indianapolis, according to police.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say a man who was involved in a car crash around 10:10 p.m. near East 38th Street and North College Avenue appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound, IMPD Officer Genae Cook said in a media release.

The man later died, Cook said. His identity has not been released.

Homicide detectives believe the man was shot before the crash, Cook said.

Around 10:45 p.m., a man was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on the sidewalk in the 800 block of West 29th Street, near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, Cook said.

He later died, Cook said. His identity has not been released.
