INDIANAPOLIS -- More than three dozen women working to overcome their drug and alcohol addictions are moving into a new home thanks to some generous donations.
Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett joined staff at the Dove Recovery Center on Wednesday as they cut the ribbon on the non-profit’s new facility at 33rd Street and Meridian.
The new building will allow the organization to serve and house 38 women. Their previous building only housed up to 25.
Dove recovery offers transitional housing and wrap-around services to help women battle substance abuse.
The organization was able to build its new facility thanks to a large donation from the Summerlin family, a $1 million community development block grant, a donation from the Lilly endowment and other federal funding.
