How to help cancer patients get to treatment

According to the American Cancer Society, transportation is a cancer patient's biggest roadblock to getting treatment. 

That's why the organization is asking people to participate in its Road To Recovery program.

What you need to volunteer for the program, according to the organization:

  • A good driving record
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Access to safe and reliable vehicle
  • Proof of adequate automobile insurance
  • Completion of the American Cancer Societytraining course
  • Availability anytime Monday through Saturday during the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
