INDIANAPOLIS -- A man shot in the parking lot of a Taco Bell on Indianapolis' east side Tuesday evening marked the seventh shooting in a violent 26 hours in Indianapolis.
Police were initially called to the Clark gas station at East 38th Street and Oxford Street just after 10 p.m. for a report of a person who had been shot.
When they arrived they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen. That man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers on the scene say the victim was shot in the parking lot of the Taco Bell up the road and made his way down to the gas station to call for help.
Police have not identified a motive or any suspects in the shooting at this time. It remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
That shooting marked the seventh in a series of violent shootings across the city in just over a day.
Monday evening two women were shot at Dubarry Park just before 8:30 p.m.
An hour later, 22-year-old Adrien Evans was found shot to death on North Park Avenue.

Early Tuesday morning police worked two serious shootings on Dearborn Street and Lasalle Street with two victims taken to the hospital.
Then Tuesday afternoon, 17-year-old Daymarko Tolefree was found shot to death in the back of a vehicle around 2 p.m. near the intersection of Oxford and 13th streets. Tolefree's death was the second fatal shooting in less than 24 hours.

Police are still looking for multiple suspects and have not connected any of the shootings at this time.
