INDIANAPOLIS -- Hoosiers like their sweets, but they apparently like things a little hot as well.
At least according to the latest state-by-state candy list from candystore.com. According to the newest report, the top three favorite candies in Indiana are Hot Tamales, Snickers and Starburst.
The website looked at the last ten years worth of sales data, and most specifically the months surrounding Halloween.
Hoosiers consume more than 95,000 pounds of Hot Tamales around Halloween, almost 79,000 pounds of Starburst and nearly 35,000 pounds of Snickers.
The National Retail Federation estimates that shoppers will spend $2.7 billion on Halloween candy in 2017.
