INDIANAPOLIS – Still puzzled by the new Marion County Transit Plan? Well Wednesday is your last day to participate in a lunchtime information session hosted by Indy Connect.
The organization is inviting you to their Lunch n’ Learn session by bringing your lunch to one of four Indianapolis library branches. You’ll learn how the plan will affect your neighborhood and daily life.
On Nov. 8 the community will have the option to vote for a tax increase to provide more transit services.
Part of the transit plan includes expanding the IndyGo service by 70 percent by incorporating more bus lines and rapid transit lines. Overall, these services will shorten wait times and increase morning, evening and weekend hours of operation.
“People have a lot of questions about the Marion County Transit Plan, and these Lunch ‘n Learns are one way they can get answers,” said Sean Northup, assistant executive director of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organiztion. “The format will be informal, and everyone is welcome to bring their lunches and eat while staff from the MPO, IndyGo and CIRTA staff explains the plan.”
Wednesday’s Lunch n’ Learn will take place at the following library branches:
- 12:15 -1 p.m., Fountain Square Branch Library, 1066 Virginia Ave.
- 12:15 -1 p.m., Lawrence Branch Library, 7898 N. Hague Rd.
- 12:15 -1 p.m., Beech Grove Branch Library, 1102 Main St., Beech Grove
