Knightstown splash pad closed due to financial limitations

Posted

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. – A splash pad in Knightstown will not open this year due to financial limitations.

Town officials said they do not have enough money to pay for the splash pad’s sewer and water bill. Last year’s payment cost over $12,000.

"Just think, I’ve got a 2-year-old and now a 3-week-old so we're up here a lot. Every time we come up here we look over there and think how my daughter would enjoy it,” said Cody Terry who lives in Knightstown.

The splash pad opened in 2012 and this is the first year the park will not open.

Those who live in the area hope to find ways to raise money to reopen the splash pad.
