HUNTINGTON COUNTY—An adult and three children escaped without injury a rollover crash on a rural Indiana road, Monday. State Police credit the proper use of seat belts and child restraint seats.

Investigators say a vehicle driven by a Huntington County woman was traveling on Old Fort Wayne Road when, for unknown reasons, it ran off the road and hit a concrete drain. The 2010 Dodge Journey than rolled over "several times," according to State Police.

The driver, two toddlers and a baby were not hurt and police cite proper use of seat belts and child restraint systems. "Normally with these types of rollover crashes we also see serious injury to the vehicle occupants when proper safety restraint systems are not in use," said Master Trooper James Ward. "Fortunately with this crash, the combination of the driver wearing her seat belt and having all three of her children—ages 3, 2, and 7 months—properly restrained in child safety seats, this family was able to walk away without injury."
