Two children critically injured after fire in Shelby County

WALDRON, Ind. – Two children were transported to the hospital in critical condition following a house fire in Waldron, Indiana Wednesday morning.

Deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department said the fire happened in a single-family home in the 100 block of W. Pearl Street around midnight.

Two children inside were airlifted to Riley Children’s Hospital and one adult was flown to Eskenazi Hospital.

Another adult and child were transported to Major Health Partners in Shelbyville with the adult being treated and released. The condition of the child remains unknown.

The home was considered a complete loss and the fire is under investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshals Office.
