AVON, Ind. -- Six people are safe after escaping from a house fire in Avon Wednesday morning.
The Wayne Township Fire Department along with Avon Fire Department responded to the fire near 10th Street and Raceway Road around 1 a.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, however, RTV6 has learned that there was a trash can inside the garage on fire.
No word yet on when the family who lives at the home will be able to return.
