INDIANAPOLIS — Are you looking to escape Indiana's winter weather? Well, you wouldn't be alone.
A local travel agent says there's a surge in people calling to schedule trips to warm destinations.
Amy Hite, owner of 'Travels by Amy,' says since the beginning of January business has been booming.
Hite has scheduled several trips for people looking to travel to warmer climates from February into March. While this winter is no record, she does believe the snow and the cold have played a part in the additional business.
Compared to last year, Hite says she has received a lot more inquiries about last minute spring break trips.
"I've had about three times as much people calling, quotes and actual bookings," Hite said.
Hite said she is paid through her company, so it doesn't cost anything to call and get a quote if you are in need of a winter escape.
