TENNESSEE — A Tennessee hospital that treated dozens of patients from the deadly tornado outbreak last week says it will not be sending any of those victims a bill.
Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Putnam County received 82 patients following the March 3 outbreak that killed 25 people and sent more than 200 to the hospital.
In Putnam County alone, 18 people were killed, including five young children, and more than 400 homes were either damaged or destroyed.
According to WTVF, Cookeville Regional Medical Center plans to bill the insurance companies of the patients they treated and they will accept those as "payment in full." The tornado victims will not receive a separate bill for their treatment at the hospital.
