New Zealand officials said they have identified the two children found earlier this month in suitcases purchased in an online auction.

The officials said that the families of the children have requested their names not be released.

Police said that the investigation into the children’s deaths continues. The remains of the children were discovered Aug. 11.

New Zealand police said that the children likely died years ago. Officials previously said the children were likely aged 5-12.
