Man dead, two injured in unrelated shootings in Indianapolis

One person is dead and one person was injured in a double shooting on Friday, August 14, 2020, on the southeast side of Indianapolis. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police.

INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead and one person is injured after a shooting Friday night on the southeast side of Indianapolis, according to police.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to investigate the incident around 9:15 p.m. in the 400 block of Harlan Street, near South State Street and English Avenue, IMPD Sgt. Grace Sibley said in an email.

A man was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital and is stable, IMPD Capt. Lawrence Wheeler said. Both men were in their 50s.

The men were arguing earlier in the day before the shooting, Wheeler said.

Detectives are also investigating an unrelated shooting around 9 p.m. in the 3800 block of North Temple Avenue that left one person in serious condition, Sibley said.
