Florida State Attorney seeks death penalty for Sebring bank shooter, from northern Indiana

HIGHLANDS CO., Fla. — On Friday, the Highlands County State Attorney, Brian Haas, announced that he will seek the death penalty against Zephen Xaver.

Xaver has been accused of opening fire inside of a Sebring Bank on Jan. 23, killing five women.

PREVIOUS: Man in deadly Florida bank shooting from Marshall County, Indiana

A Highlands County grand jury indicted Xaver on five counts of premeditated first-degree murder.

The victims have been identified as the following:

  • Ana Pinon Williams, 38
  • Cynthia Lee Watson, 65
  • Marisol Lopez, 55
  • Jessica Montague, 31

The fifth victim has not been identified.
The northern Indiana native remains behind bars in the Highlands County Jail on no bond.
