Shane Steichen says Colts QB Daniel Jones is ‘on fire right now’
WESTFIELD, Ind. (WRTV) — Colts quarterback Daniel Jones has been impressive in training camp.
Not only was he a full participant in practice less than eight months after tearing his Achilles, but he is scrambling outside the pocket and hitting throws.
Colts head coach Shane Steichen has been especially impressed with his quarterback.
“We chart all the throws, we chart accuracy throws, all that stuff,” Steichen said. “He’s on fire right now. It’s awesome to see. Obviously, a good sign for our football team when he’s throwing the ball that way for sure.”
Jones will have his first test against another team on Tuesday with a joint practice on the road against the New England Patriots.
Jones played 13 games with the Colts last season. He threw for 3,101 yards and 19 touchdowns, and added five rushing touchdowns.
