Director
Circle City Broadcasting is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Director to lead live television newscasts from the control room. This role is responsible for the technical execution of daily broadcasts, ensuring accurate timing, clean transitions, and a high-quality, on-air product.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct live newscasts in a face paced environment
- Code assigned newscast and run through portions of the show with crew and talent before going to air
- Direct daily live newscasts
- Manage audio levels and ensure high broadcast-quality sound during live productions
- Oversee live news production from the control room, ensuring accurate timing, clean execution, and smooth transitions
- Adapt workflows and embrace new technologies, tools, and production methods as they are introduced
- Collaborate with other production departments and assist with additional duties as assigned
Experience Required
- Previous Control Room Automation use is required, Ross overdrive, Xpression and Acuity experience preferred.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Audio experience required
- Experience in live news production is required
- Ability to adapt quickly and respond to breaking news and unexpected events
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in communications or tv production related degree
