Circle City Broadcasting in Indianapolis, IN is looking for Freelance News Reporters to join our news team.
Every day in Indianapolis, there’s a story waiting to be told. From the Statehouse to neighborhood block parties, from breaking news to inspiring community features, this role gives you the opportunity to bring powerful, meaningful stories to life for thousands of Hoosiers across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue compelling stories across all platforms
- Pitch and develop story ideas that reflect what Indianapolis is talking about
- Shoot, write, and edit news content for broadcast and digital platforms
- Create engaging multimedia content for web and social media
- Deliver confident, accurate live reports
- Collaborate with a high-performing newsroom team to enhance storytelling skills
Experience Required
- 3–5 years of professional reporting experience
- Experience in the Indianapolis market or a comparable market preferred
- Strong live reporting and multimedia storytelling skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Must reside in or near the Indianapolis television market
