Meteorologist
Circle City Broadcasting (CCB) is looking for a dynamic, engaging Meteorologist to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing and delivering accurate, compelling forecasts across both broadcast and digital platforms.
The ideal candidate will be prepared to handle a variety of weather forecasting responsibilities, report on weather-related stories, and contribute to severe weather coverage. This role requires someone who understands that weather coverage goes beyond the forecast — someone who can tell impactful local weather stories and connect with viewers on-air, online, and through social media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present accurate daily weather forecasts for television and digital platforms
- Report on weather-related stories and community impacts
- Assist with severe weather coverage before, during, and after major weather events
- Collaborate with the station’s meteorology and news teams to create engaging weather content
- Produce weather content for social media and digital platforms
- Analyze weather data and communicate information clearly and effectively to viewers
Qualifications
- Degree in Meteorology or related science field preferred; candidates currently pursuing a degree are encouraged to apply
- Strong on-air communication and presentation skills
- Ability to gather, analyze, and clearly explain weather data
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- Strong storytelling and audience engagement skills across television, digital, and social platforms
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and severe weather situations as needed
