MICHAELA SPRINGER

Michaela “Mytch” Springer is a digital journalist with Circle City Broadcasting, providing digital news coverage for WRTV and WISH-TV. They joined the WISH-TV Digital team in March 2023.

Born in Evansville, Mytch grew up in southern Illinois before moving to the Greater Pittsburgh area for college. They graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in writing.

During college, Mytch interned with Human City Creative, a small film company focused on telling hidden stories from western Pennsylvania. There, they worked as a photographer, videographer, writer and editor. Mytch also served as a stage manager for Geneva College’s Bagpiper Theater and wrote for the school’s literary magazine, The Chimes. Their work has been both published and performed at Geneva.

After college, Mytch moved to Indianapolis and worked at a bookstore and steakhouse before joining WISH-TV as a digital journalist in March 2023. While journalism is at the forefront of their career, they still spend a few hours each week working at the bookstore.

Mytch now lives in Indianapolis with their many houseplants, backyard birds and cat, Suki.

When they’re not writing for work, there’s a good chance they’re still writing something. Mytch also enjoys creating art, reading fantasy novels, watching documentaries and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
