Strong to severe storms across central Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) — Following a calm start to the weekend, temperatures are rising as showers and storms are returning to start the new week.
TONIGHT:
A stray shower or localized storm will be possible through midnight. However most spots will stay dry under partly cloudy skies.
TOMORROW:
Storm chances return dark and early. A cluster of storms mainly north of I-70 will work into the metro area after midnight and will exit the area after sunrise. Much of the day will remain partly to mostly cloudy and very hot and humid, with temperatures approaching 90. A few storms will try to return again for spots north of I-70 after dinner time. Any storms will have the potential to be strong to severe.
TUESDAY:
Showers and storms will linger into early Tuesday morning. Heavy downpours and gusty winds will be possible for the morning commute. Storm chances will linger in an on and off fashion throughout the day under mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will max out in the mid 80s. Any storms will have the potential to be strong to severe with all modes of severe impacts in play.
7-DAY FORECAST:
Scattered showers and storm chances will continue through the rest of the week with temperatures dropping into the low 80s and upper 70s. A few storms will linger through the area come Wednesday with the best chance for activity south of I-70.
Another round of clusters of storms returns Thursday and Friday where each day can see on and off storms. Temperatures will remain in the low 80s to end the week. High pressure will build in for next weekend. This will return sunshine and will allow temperatures to return to the upper 80s.
