Bloomington crash kills woman, leaves 18-year-old driver hurt
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A 19-year-old woman died and 18-year-old man was in the hospital after an early morning crash in Monroe County Wednesday morning.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened around 1:27 a.m. Wednesday in the area of South State Road 446 and Allens Creek Road in Bloomington.
Investigators say a Subaru traveling on S.R. 446 left the road for some reason and overturned.
A passenger – a 19-year-old Medora woman – died from her injuries. The 18-year-old male driver from Franklin was later flown to IU Methodist in Indianapolis for treatment.
It’s not clear what led up to the crash, but sheriff’s office says more information will be released once available.
