Man dies after shooting near Marion and Hancock county line

A man was critically injured after a shooting on Sunday, March 28, 2021, on the east side of Indianapolis. IMPD is investigating the incident.

UPDATE:

On Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, IMPD announced officers have arrested two juveniles in connection with this incident.

INDIANAPOLIS — A man has died after a shooting Sunday afternoon on the east side of Indianapolis, according to police.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around 3 p.m. to the 3700 block of Rinehall Drive, just west of the Marion and Hancock county line, on the report of a person shot.

Officers found the man, identified as 30-year-old Dusty Lawrence, with at least one apparent gunshot wound when they arrived, IMPD Lt. Shane Foley said in an email. They were taken to a local hospital in critical condition and later died.
