CLARK COUNTY, Ind. --  The Indiana man arrested with a car full of guns and explosives headed to the L.A. Pride Parade now faces new charges for having sex with a 12-year-old girl in southern Indiana.

The Clark County Prosecutor’s office confirms the filing of the child molestation charges against James Howell, 20.

Investigators say Howell had sex with the 12-year-old girl on May 31st while at Henryville State Forestry.

The girl’s mother reported it to police two days later when she heard about it from her son’s girlfriend.

Howell and the young girl attended an event at the forestry that day, and investigators say he offered to give the girl a ride to her grandparents’ house.

A friend of Howell’s told police that he admitted the sexual encounter to her, and that he wanted to marry the young girl.

That friend also told police that Howell “told her he was a ‘sociopath with an automatic’ and that he would take out anybody, including the cops, if they tried to come to his house and arrest him.”

Police in California arrested Howell June 12th, after finding his car filled with a high-capacity assault rifle, two other loaded rifles, 15 pounds of commercially sold explosive, a stun gun and buck.

Howell told police he was en route to the Pride Parade in Los Angeles.
