INDIANAPOLIS — Police in Indianapolis say they've issued dozens of tickets over a two day period as part of what they're calling "Project Blitz."
The project focuses on speeding in school zones and reminding drivers to pay attention to the roads and where they are driving.
As part of Project Blitz, police are monitoring active school zones and riding on school buses to see firsthand how often drivers are ignoring school bus arms. Drivers are also being ticketed by patrolling officers for those violations.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers have issued more than 80 tickets to drivers caught speeding in school zones over a two-day period.
Officers will continue Project Blitz for the next few weeks and will continue to monitor school zones throughout the remainder of the school year.
