INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis woman was critically injured Sunday morning in a hit-and-run crash on the east side.
IMPD officers were called to the 7400 block of Brookville Road, near the I-465 ramp, around 4 a.m. Sunday on a report of a crash with seriously bodily injury.
They arrived to find a 34-year-old woman who had been struck by a vehicle. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Police took a man into custody at the scene on charges of OWI, but said he was not the suspected hit-and-run driver. A description of the suspect vehicle was not immediately available.
At last update, the female victim remained in the hospital in critical condition.
